Evidently introducing somewhat smaller home designs or less luxurious ones is a new trend in 2009 by some of Ottawa's home builders as prices of existing designs shoot up out of reach beyond that level. The new Forestlane is built on a 34ft lot and has a one-car garage.
The brick-fronted Elevation'A' features three dramatic gable ends including one above the front porch, and a tall arched window that illuminates a front staircase. Elevation'B' provides a balcony above the front porch. This is quite a spacious home for 2,075 square feet of finished living room; just enough for a small family with children and Nanny or Granny.
A spacious foyer gives access to a separate dining room on the left and also the Great Room at the far right which is open to a traditional kitchen and the breakfast room with bay windows and a snack bar. The main level powder room is well positioned between the garage end and the rear of the fireplace. Upstairs the master bedroom features a luxury en-suite bathroom with a Roman Tub set in the bay windows. The laundry room is conveniently placed immediately at the top of the stairs on the bedroom floor. The third bedroom, beside it, could easily be adapted into a front office if required.
